Ma Taua Dairies

Ma Taua (future possession and to succeed) was our first farm that we purchased in 2005 on our journey to owning a portfolio in Mid Canterbury. Being 354 ha it didn’t quite fit into our “blue print” of 600 – 900 cows but we knew it held many opportunities that just needed exploring. We ran Ma Taua for a few seasons at 1400 cows then decreased this to 1100 cows to be more sustainable on both our team and the cows. Ma Taua currently produces 540,000 milk solids and is successfully managed by Murray Bowden and his team.
